Working for a Greener, Safer and Fairer Bushey

A Greener Bushey

We have:

Ø Secured an additional £100,000 for street cleaning

Ø Campaigned for collection of all recyclables from flats (20% of all households)

Ø Managed to get the Council to act on cases of fly tipping and pushed for action to prevent future cases

We will:

Ø Continue to campaign for improvements to the Rose Garden, the Moatfield and King George Rec. Ground

Ø Continue to consistently oppose the loss of green space (especially back gardens) to greedy overdevelopment

A Fairer Bushey

We have:

Ø Called for more money to be spent in Bushey, to match the spending in Radlett, Borehamwood & Potters Bar

Ø Consistently campaigned for more activities for young people in Bushey

We will:

Ø Continue to defend the historic and cultural character of Bushey

Ø Maintain pressure to ensure all areas of Bushey are treated equally

A Safer Bushey

We have:

Ø Worked closely with the Crime Reduction Group (CRG) and local police to make Bushey safer

Ø Led the call for action on empty properties and derelict shops that attract crime & anti social behaviour

Ø Consistently pressed the County Council for repairs to pavements, verges and dangerously worn roads

We will:

Ø Continue to press for a full police presence all over Bushey

Ø Campaign for better lit and safer footpaths

· follow up every issue that local people raise with us – no issue that is important to you is too small to raise with us!
