Cllr Sandy Walkington's last ditch attempt to stop Hertfordshire County Council from proceeding to sell its land for the giant SEGRO freight terminal south of St Albans lost by two votes today.
The Conservatives no longer run Hertsmere Borough Council, after 24 years in charge. At the local elections, the Conservatives lost 13 seats, and their majority, leaving no one party able to run the council alone.

As well as holding on to the ward of Bushey North with it's three councillors, we gained two more wards to take our total councillors to nine.
